2008-01-20Reviewer: Niki ReedAssembly took a couple of hours, not long considering it was flat packed. The screw packs contained the right amount of set screws, unfortunately one of the sets had a screw for a T2, so I was one set screw short. Before putting on the side covers, drives should be placed and bolted in. The kits don't supply screws for the hard disk drives. I used set scews that I have collected over the last few years for bolting the HDD. I had to order two+two (spares) extra 80mm fans for one of the side covers, couldn't get blue so I used red. I used a 600W PSU. I didn't use the cathodes. I fitted the case with two SATA (Seagate) HDD's @320Gb, and one EIDE HDD (Western Digital) Raptor @ 250Gb. Fitted a multicard reader with USB (for memory sticks etc.) and one 'writemaster' black 20X Multi DVD Writer/rom and an LG 20X Multi DVD Writer/rom with Lightscribe and blu-ray.
I used an ASUS P4S800D-X mainboard that had been sitting alone in a cupboard and fitted to it the Intel P4 3.2GHz (so 478) also new. Put in the PSU and connected everything up. Then connected an XFX AGP Graphics card 256mb, put in four Danelec 1024mb PC3200 DDR with AKASA ram coolers into matching slots and covered them with an OCZ cooler (with chrome and two blue led fans). Then I started him up.
One of the case fans that came with the case, the lights were on but the fan wasn't turning. The card reader I ordered hadn't arrived yet nor had the four 80mm red AKASA fans.
I loaded XP Home and installed all drivers etc.. Then when the fans and card reader arrived I replaced the faulty fan with a red one and put two red ones in the side panel. It looks kinda purply coloured. I like it. When it came to fitting the card reader i realised I was only going to be able to fit screws in one side (I used PK self tapping screws). It looks fantastic.
I'm a wheelchair user and a woman, and I didn't have the same problems as the previous reviewer, the case was extremly easy to put together and all the holes did line up, the only drawback was the one odd screw and the non functioning fan.
Since the build I have also added an expansion exhaust cooler, an ASUS Wifi card and a Hauppauge TV card for satelite and freeview..
Enjoy....
