Stylish and Superb

I'd ordered this monitor from Komplett back in September 04 and have never looked back, spent a long time looking at reviews around the web before purchase and I still haven't too this date read a bad review about the product, bar a pre-release which was not representative of the retail product at toms hardware which has since been updated...

I have two friends who I recommended this monitor to and they absolutely love it to bits as I do. I do a lot of gaming and watch DVD’s on a regular basis and compared to my last LCD the 172x is an amazing improvement. The colour quality is amazing and anyone considering this monitor who plays first person shooters as a replacement for a CRT should not be at all worried about ghosting because there is none that I can see and I've been playing Q3 for years.

Add to that I have yet to see another monitor that looks as good and I can't really think of any reason why anyone would want to buy a different monitor in the 17" class bar the price which is representative of the quality of this product.

Currently running two of these, one on VGA and one on DVI, after a little tweaking it's impossible to tell the differance between the inputs. Only one lazy pixel on just one of the screens. Great Service from komplett and a speedy delivery. Would recommend these to anyone out the looking for a 17" LCD.

Brilliant Image, Stunning Looks

Having done A LOT of homework, this little gem consistently came highly recommended. In fact I am yet to see a review mentioning any bad points at all (appart from unfortunate one-off defaults). I received my monitor very rapidly (thanks Komplett) and have been running it for a week now, and it is excellent. The image quality is superb (on an analogue cable) and gone are the days of squinting at the monitor. I'm sure this is stopping the few mild headaches I used to get, but this may just be a placebo. The monitor is also very sleek, and it's almost as if you're looking at a floating image due to the tiny size of the bezel. Congratulations Samsung on an excellent product, and for anyone thinking of buying the 172x, I urge you to do it. To coin a phrase, you won't regret it.

Dead area on Screen

Samsung 172x

I had been looking at getting an lcd monitor for a while, and after going through many reviews, decided on this samsung 172x. I went for this as its 12ms refresh rate means you can play fast paced games, and watch movies with no ghosting. Not only that, the image quality and colour vibrance is outstanding. In terms of aesthetics i dont think you could find any monitor anywhere that just looks as sleak and stylish as this! If you are after a brilliant looking-and performing 17inch lcd-get this! Oh-and big thumbs up to komplett-ordered monday night-received thursday morning.
